BURBANK, Calif., February 19, 2020 – The Southern San Fernando Valley Airplane Noise Task Force (Task Force) – a group formed to collaboratively address community concerns regarding aircraft noise resulting from planes departing from Van Nuys Airport (VNY) and Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR). The Task Force’s objective is to hear community and industry experts’ proposals and provide the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with recommendations on aircraft departure operations.

Hollywood Burbank Airport and Van Nuys Airport to hold the sixth meeting of the Southern San Fernando Valley Airplane Noise Task Force. The Task Force includes elected representatives and their staff from communities that are or may be affected by aircraft procedural and operational changes related to aircraft noise in the Southern San Fernando Valley. The Task Force, made up of 13 members, includes elected representatives and their staff from communities that are or may be affected by aircraft procedural and operational changes related to aircraft noise in the Southern San Fernando Valley. BURBANK, Calif., Sept.12, 2019 – The Southern San Fernando Valley Airplane Noise Task Force (Task Force) held its second meeting last evening at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel Convention Center.

BURBANK, Calif., August 29, 2019 – The Southern San Fernando Valley Airplane Noise Task Force (Task Force) – a group formed to address community concerns regarding aircraft noise resulting from aircraft departing from Van Nuys Airport (VNY) and Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) – held its first of up to six meetings yesterday evening. The inaugural meeting laid out the ground rules to ensure a collegial and respectful environment, explained the process for public comments, and voted to elect the Task Force officers and adopt the bylaws.

WHAT: Hollywood Burbank Airport and Van Nuys Airport to hold the first meeting of the Southern San Fernando Valley Airplane Noise Task Force. The Task Force, made up to 13 members, includes elected representatives and their staff from communities that are or may be affected by aircraft procedural and operational changes related to aircraft noise in the Southern San Fernando Valley. The group will address increased noise concerns for aircraft using both airports.

(VAN NUYS, CA) At an awards luncheon held at the Airtel Plaza Hotel today, Van Nuys Airport (VNY) honored 36 general aviation companies with Friendly Flyer Awards. The awards honor the companies’ outstanding compliance with established noise abatement regulations and achieving 99 percent or greater compliance with all voluntary noise abatement programs at VNY during the 2018 calendar year.

(Van Nuys, CA) Yesterday, Van Nuys Airport (VNY) hosted “Business Jets Fuel Green: A Step Toward Sustainability,” a daylong event devoted to the use and awareness of sustainable alternative jet fuels (SAJF), which include the latest formulations of jet fuel that come from renewable and sustainable sources. Los Angeles City Councilmember Nury Martinez and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) executives, including LAWA Chief Executive Officer Deborah Flint, joined a consortium of general aviation and business aviation advocates to promote the use of SAJF as part of a shared commitment to combating climate change through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from jet fuel.
